Cookie Policy
@-Social™ | at-social.com
Effective Date: August 15, 2026
Last Updated: August 19, 2026
@-Social™ is operated by Seranya Beck (operating name; full legal name held privately) ("we," "us," or "our"), a sole proprietor based in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on the @-Social Platform (at-social.com), why we use them, and how you can control them. Our separate promotional site, at-social.social, uses none of these technologies at all — see Section 2.4 below.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to give site operators basic information about how people use their sites.
Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and web beacons (small image files used to track whether a page or email was opened). This policy covers all of these.
2. Cookies We Use
We keep our cookie use to the minimum necessary to run the Platform. We do not use cookies for targeted advertising or to track you across other websites.
Account registration, login, saved preferences, and analytics are still being built and are not yet live on the Platform — so the cookies tied to those features, described below, aren't set today either. We're listing them here so this policy is ready the moment they ship.
2.1 Strictly necessary cookies (once account login is live)
Once account registration and login are available, these cookies will be required for the Platform to function, and you won't be able to opt out of them while logged in.
| Cookie / Technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Will keep you logged in while you browse the Platform | Session (deleted when you close your browser) |
| CSRF token | Will protect your account against cross-site request forgery attacks | Session |
| Security cookie | Will detect unusual login activity and help prevent unauthorized access | Up to 30 days |
2.2 Functional cookies (once available)
These cookies will remember choices you make to improve your experience, once the underlying features exist. Today, the feed shows posts in a single reverse-chronological order with no sort options, and there's no language or localization selector yet.
| Cookie / Technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Preference cookie | Will remember display preferences (such as feed sort order or language), once those options exist | Up to 12 months |
| Authentication token | Will keep you logged in between sessions if you choose "Stay signed in," once login is live | Up to 30 days |
2.3 Analytics cookies (once implemented)
Basic, privacy-respecting analytics are planned for the Platform but are not yet implemented — no analytics cookie is set today. Once live, it will be limited to understanding how the Platform is used in aggregate, so we can improve it; we will not use Google Analytics or similar third-party trackers that profile individual users.
| Cookie / Technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics cookie | Will track aggregate page views, feature usage, and session length (no personally identifiable information), once implemented | Up to 12 months |
2.4 Third-party cookies, and at-social.social
@-Social does not embed third-party content, media players, or tracking scripts, so no third-party service sets cookies on your device through the Platform. If that changes in the future, we'll update this policy before it does.
Our promotional site, at-social.social, is even simpler: it sets no cookies, uses no local or session storage, and loads no analytics or third-party scripts of any kind. The only data it sends anywhere is an email address, if you choose to submit our signup form — see our Privacy Policy for details.
2.5 DOT-filiate referral links (not a cookie)
When you follow a DOT-filiate referral link to a creator's DOTfront, the referral is identified by a parameter in the link itself and is read by our server for that single visit only. We do not set a cookie or use local storage to remember a DOT-filiate referral — if you leave the page and return later without the referral link, the referral is not preserved. Because no cookie or client-side storage is involved, this mechanism is not listed in the tables above, but we're noting it here for transparency. (See our Privacy Policy for what limited information we log during a referred visit for fraud-verification purposes.)
3. How to Control Cookies
Browser settings. You can instruct your browser to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or alert you when a cookie is set. The exact steps depend on your browser:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
Note that once account login is live, blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in or using key features of the Platform.
Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. @-Social respects this signal by not using any cross-site tracking technologies. Once analytics are implemented, they will remain aggregate and session-scoped.
4. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced by a notice on the Platform.
