Code of Conduct
@-Social™ | at-social.com
Effective Date: August 15, 2026
Last Updated: August 19, 2026
@-Social™ is a platform built for creators: writers, poets, journalists, visual artists, musicians, and filmmakers who share their work and build their audiences here. We want this to be a space where creators feel safe to publish, connect, and grow.
This Code of Conduct sets out what behaviour we expect from everyone on the Platform, what is not allowed, and how we handle violations.
1. Our Values
@-Social is built on a few non-negotiable commitments:
- Creators keep 100% of what they make. We do not take cuts from creator earnings.
- Your work is yours. We do not claim ownership of anything you post.
- Everyone deserves to be treated with respect. The Platform is for people doing real work. It is not a stage for harassment, provocation, or abuse.
2. Expected Behaviour
All users of @-Social agree to:
- Treat other users, creators, and their work with respect.
- Post only content you have the right to share.
- Represent yourself and your work honestly.
- Use Platform features as they are intended, including direct messages where that feature is available.
- Report content that appears to violate this Code of Conduct — see our Safety Reporting Policy for how (an in-platform reporting tool is planned but not yet built).
3. Prohibited Content and Behaviour
The following are not permitted on @-Social under any circumstances.
3.1 Harassment and abuse
- Targeting, threatening, or intimidating another user or creator.
- Sending unwanted messages, especially after a user has made clear they do not want contact.
- Publishing another person's private information without their consent (doxxing).
- Coordinating with others to pile on or overwhelm a specific user or creator.
3.2 Hate speech and discrimination
- Content that dehumanizes people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
- Slurs, symbols, or rhetoric associated with hate movements.
- Calls for violence or discrimination against any group.
3.3 Misinformation and deception
- Impersonating another person, creator, public figure, organization, or @-Social itself.
- Creating accounts with false or misleading identity information.
- Spreading content you know to be false where it could cause harm to real people.
3.4 Spam and manipulation
- Repetitive, unsolicited, or bulk posting.
- Fake engagement: buying or coordinating artificial followers or engagement.
- Deceptive promotional content disguised as organic creator posts.
- Posting the same content across multiple profiles to artificially inflate visibility.
- Self-referring your own purchases through your DOT-filiate links, or otherwise manipulating referral attribution to receive commissions you have not legitimately earned.
3.5 Illegal content
- Content that constitutes or facilitates copyright infringement (see our DMCA / Copyright Policy).
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexualization of minors, in any form.
- Content that facilitates illegal activity, including fraud, trafficking, or the sale of illegal goods.
- Content that violates Canadian federal law, Ontario provincial law, or any other applicable jurisdiction.
3.6 Graphic and harmful content
- Graphic violence or gore without a content warning and a legitimate creative or journalistic purpose.
- Content that glorifies or encourages self-harm or suicide. Content discussing these topics for support or creative exploration is permitted when handled responsibly.
- Explicit sexual content, in any form. @-Social has never permitted, does not currently permit, and will not in the future permit explicit sexual content on the Platform, in any medium — including text, images, video, audio, or AI-generated or illustrated depictions. This is an absolute prohibition, without exception: there is no adult-content section, no age-gated area, and none is planned.
3.7 Platform abuse
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or feature on the Platform.
- Using automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Platform without our written consent.
- Interfering with or disrupting the Platform's infrastructure, code, or other users' experience.
4. Content Warnings
We encourage creators who post content involving intense themes (violence, trauma, grief, addiction, mental health) to use content warnings. This is a courtesy to your audience, not a requirement in most cases. We may ask you to add a content warning to specific posts at our discretion.
5. Enforcement
We take this Code of Conduct seriously. When a violation is reported or identified, we may take any of the following actions depending on the severity and pattern of behaviour:
- Content removal: The violating post, comment, or media is taken down.
- Warning: A first notice for minor or borderline violations.
- Temporary suspension: Account access is restricted for a defined period.
- Permanent ban: The account is permanently removed from the Platform.
We may also report content to law enforcement or relevant authorities where required by law or where we believe there is a genuine risk of harm to a person.
Repeat violations and severe violations (such as CSAM, credible threats of violence, or coordinated harassment) result in immediate permanent bans without a prior warning.
6. Appeals
If your content was removed or your account was suspended and you believe it was a mistake, you have the right to appeal. See our Safety Reporting Policy for the full appeals process. We review every appeal we receive.
7. Reporting Violations
To report content or behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct:
- Email us at legal@at-social.com with the subject line: Code of Conduct Report. (An in-platform Report button is planned but not yet built.)
For urgent safety concerns involving a risk of real-world harm, contact local emergency services first. We are not a substitute for emergency response.
8. Changes to This Code
We may update this Code of Conduct as the Platform grows and community needs evolve. We will post updates here and note the effective date. If changes are significant, we will notify users by email or by a notice on the Platform.
