Safety Reporting Policy
@-Social™ | at-social.com
Effective Date: August 15, 2026
Last Updated: August 19, 2026
@-Social™ is operated by Seranya Beck (operating name; full legal name held privately) ("we," "us," or "our"), a sole proprietor based in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada. This Safety Reporting Policy explains how to report harmful content or behaviour on the Platform, how we review reports, and how to appeal a moderation decision.
1. In an Emergency
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first (911 in Canada and the United States). @-Social is not equipped to respond to emergencies in real time.
For mental health crises, Canadian users can also reach:
- Talk Suicide Canada: 1-833-456-4566 (24/7) or text 45645 (4pm–midnight ET)
- Crisis Services Canada: crisisservicescanada.ca
2. How to Report Content or Behaviour
2.1 Reporting by email
Right now, email is the way to report a problem — the in-platform Report tool described below is planned but not yet built. Email us at:
legal@at-social.com
Subject: Safety Report
Include the following in your email:
- Your username (optional, but helps us follow up with you).
- The URL or username of the content or account you are reporting.
- A brief description of the issue.
- Any screenshots or supporting information.
We review all email reports within 2 business days. Complex cases may take longer.
2.2 In-platform reporting (coming soon)
Once built, the in-platform Report tool will let you report a post, profile, or message directly: click the options menu (usually three dots or a flag icon) on the content, select Report, choose the reason that best describes the issue, and submit — your report will go directly to our moderation queue. You'll be able to report anonymously; the person you report won't be told who reported them. Until this ships, please use email reporting above.
2.3 Reporting child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
CSAM must be reported immediately. In addition to reporting through our platform:
- Canada: Report to the Canadian Centre for Child Protection at cybertip.ca or 1-866-658-9022.
- United States: Report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at cybertipline.org.
We are required by law to report any CSAM we become aware of to the Canadian Centre for Child Protection and to law enforcement.
3. How We Handle Reports
All reports are treated confidentially. When we receive a report, we:
- Review the reported content against our Code of Conduct and Terms of Service.
- Assess whether the content violates our policies and the severity of the violation.
- Take appropriate action, which may include: no action (if no violation is found), a warning to the reported user, content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent ban.
- Notify the reported user if action was taken, without identifying who reported them.
We aim to review reports (currently submitted by email, until in-platform reporting is live) within 2 business days. Reports involving credible threats of violence, CSAM, or other severe violations are escalated and reviewed as a priority.
We do not disclose the outcome of a report to the person who filed it, except in cases involving your own content (see Section 5 on appeals).
4. Keeping Your Account Safe
Account registration and login are still being built and are not yet live on the Platform. Once they are, you'll be responsible for the security of your own account, and we recommend:
- Use a strong, unique password. Use a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Do not reuse passwords from other sites.
- Do not share your password. @-Social staff will never ask for your password.
- Be cautious about what you share publicly. Avoid posting your phone number, home address, or other sensitive personal details on your profile.
- Log out on shared devices. If you use a public or shared computer, log out when you are done.
- Contact us immediately if your account is compromised. Email legal@at-social.com if you suspect someone else has accessed your account.
5. Appeals
If your content was removed or your account was suspended and you believe the decision was made in error, you have the right to appeal.
How to appeal:
Email legal@at-social.com within 14 days of receiving the moderation notice.
Subject line: Moderation Appeal
Include in your appeal:
- Your username.
- The date of the moderation action.
- The content or account affected.
- A clear explanation of why you believe the decision was made in error, including any evidence you have.
We will review your appeal and respond with a final decision within 7 business days. We may uphold the original decision, modify it, or reverse it. Our decision on appeal is final.
Appeals submitted after 14 days may not be reviewed.
Accounts permanently banned for CSAM, credible threats of violence, or coordinated harassment campaigns are not eligible for appeal.
6. Blocking and Muting Users — "NOTing" (coming soon)
On @-Social, blocking and muting another user is called NOTing — the opposite of DOTing (following or engaging with someone). Account-level NOTing is still being built and is not yet live. Once available, you won't need to wait for us to act to protect yourself from another user: NOTing gives you two options — blocking, which will prevent someone from viewing your profile, content, or activity feed, and from sending you messages, directly from their profile's options menu; or muting, which will hide a user's content from your feed without notifying them. Both will be reversible at any time from your account settings.
Until then, if another user is bothering you, please contact us at legal@at-social.com and we'll look into it.
